Bulk Sorbitol Powder Sweetener D-Glucitol E420 for Confectionery Beverage Cosmetic Manufacturing Lines
Sorbitol Powder, also known as D-Glucitol, is a crystalline sugar alcohol carrying E number 420 and INS number 420(i). It is a white, free-flowing crystalline powder with a clean sweet taste at approximately half the sweetness of sucrose, freely soluble in water, and it works in a formulation on three fronts at once: as a bulk sweetener, as a humectant that holds moisture in the finished product, and as a body builder where sugar has been reduced.
The powder is produced in continuous runs against a fixed process specification, released batch by batch, and packed for container shipment, so a buyer running confectionery, beverage or cosmetic lines can hold one raw material item across several product families instead of qualifying a different sweetener for each. Because the same crystalline grade disperses cleanly in both aqueous and fat-based systems, it moves between a candy kitchen, a beverage premix room and a cosmetic emulsion line without changing the qualification file.

Confectionery lines. Sorbitol powder supplies bulk and sweetness in sugar free candy, chewing gum and tablet confectionery without sucrose, and its moisture binding keeps gum and chewy candy from hardening on the shelf. It also carries the cooling sensation that mint and fruit profiles are built around, so the sweetness and the mouthfeel come from the same ingredient.
Beverage and premix. In liquid beverages it modifies sweetness and adds body where sugar has been cut, and because it dissolves freely it goes into syrup rooms and powder premix blends without a dispersion step. In dry mix applications the free-flowing crystalline form resists caking, which keeps dosing accurate across a shift.
Cosmetic and personal care. As a humectant it holds water in creams, lotions and gel bases, improving spreadability and limiting dry-out in the pack. It is equally at home in toothpaste and oral care gels, where its sweetness carries no cariogenic sugar load. One grade covering both the food and the cosmetic line means one incoming inspection protocol for the buyer.
Bakery and fillings. In fillings, cakes and biscuits, sorbitol keeps texture soft and retards staling, which supports shelf stability without adding a separate humectant to the formula.

Production runs under ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 management systems, with Halal and Kosher compliance maintained on the relevant lines. Raw materials are inspected before release to production, process parameters are logged through the line, and every finished batch is sampled and tested before packing. Retained samples are kept for traceability. For buyers running repeated orders, the release specification stays fixed between lots, so a formula qualified on one batch does not need re-qualification on the next.

Standard packing is 25 kg kraft paper bags with PE inner liner, palletized and stretch wrapped for container loading. Neutral bag printing is the default; customized bag marking and private label packing are available on request, subject to order quantity. Shipments move by sea in 20 ft or 40 ft containers, with the loading plan and pallet count confirmed before dispatch so container utilization is clear on both sides. For buyers running several production lines, mixed pallet configurations and scheduled repeat shipments can be arranged.

Store in a closed container in a cool, dry and well ventilated warehouse, away from direct sunlight and strong odours. Sorbitol powder is hygroscopic, so bags stay sealed until use, and opened bags should be resealed or transferred into a dry container. Keep pallets off the floor and clear of walls to allow air circulation. Under these conditions the powder keeps its free-flowing character through the stated shelf life, which matters most where it is dosed by weight into a continuous line.
Production runs under ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 management systems, with Halal and Kosher compliance maintained on the relevant lines. Raw materials are inspected before release to production, process parameters are logged through the line, and every finished batch is sampled and tested before packing. One grade, three production lines. Most buyers qualify a separate sweetener for candy, a separate one for beverages and a separate one for cosmetic bases. This crystalline grade serves all three, so one incoming inspection protocol, one specification file and one supplier record cover the whole plant. That is the difference between buying a material and removing an administrative burden.
Specification written against a published standard. The limits in the table above follow the JECFA / INS 420(i) monograph and the pharmacopoeial monograph for crystalline sorbitol, not an internal document invented for sales purposes. Your quality team can audit every line against a standard it already recognises, which shortens supplier approval and removes the argument about whose number is correct.
The release specification does not drift between lots. Parameters are held fixed from batch to batch rather than adjusted to whatever the run happens to produce. A formula qualified on one shipment stays qualified on the next, so repeated orders do not trigger re-validation, re-testing or reformulation work on your side.
Documents travel with the goods. Every lot ships with its own certificate of analysis, and the lot number on the bag traces back to the retained sample and the process record. The safety data sheet is issued with the first shipment and reissued on revision. When your customer or auditor asks what went into the batch, the answer is already in the file.
Packing built around container loading. The 25 kg kraft paper bag with PE inner liner is palletized and stretch wrapped, so bags arrive intact and stack predictably. Mixed pallet configurations and scheduled repeat shipments can be arranged for plants running several lines on different cycles.
Systems behind the paperwork. Production operates under ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 management systems, with Halal and Kosher compliance maintained on the relevant lines. Raw materials are inspected before release to production and retained samples are kept for traceability, which is what makes a documented claim hold up under an audit rather than only in a quotation.
Application knowledge, not just a price. Sorbitol is judged by how it behaves in the formula, not by the bag. We work with buyers on dosage, dispersion in syrup and premix systems, moisture binding in fillings and humectancy in emulsions, so the first trial lot is planned rather than guessed.
