Sorbitol Powder — also known as D-Glucitol, D-Sorbitol, Sorbit, or Sorbol — is a white, crystalline polyol (sugar alcohol) supplied as a free-flowing powder. It is a bulk sweetener used across a wide range of food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
Sorbitol is about 60% as sweet as sucrose with roughly one-third fewer calories. It delivers a smooth mouthfeel with a sweet, cool and pleasant taste, which makes it a popular choice in confectionery, chewing gum and oral-care formulations. Because it is non-cariogenic (it does not promote tooth decay), it is also well suited to sugar-free and diabetes-friendly products.
