Sorbitol Powder 80–120 mesh is a finely milled, free-flowing crystal grade of sorbitol (D-glucitol) — a polyol sugar alcohol used as a bulk sweetener and multi-functional excipient across the food, pharmaceutical and personal-care industries. Milled to a narrow 80–120 mesh band, this grade delivers a fine, uniform particle profile that disperses evenly in dry blends, feeds smoothly through direct-compression and dosing systems, and resists caking during storage and transport.
Chemically, sorbitol is a hexahydric alcohol with the formula C6H14O6 and a molecular weight of 182.2. It is very soluble in water and only slightly soluble in alcohol, has a clean, cool taste, and is about 60% as sweet as sucrose while carrying roughly one-third fewer calories. Because it is non-cariogenic and its metabolism does not depend on insulin, it is a preferred sweetener for tooth-friendly, sugar-free, reduced-calorie and diabetic-friendly products.
This grade is manufactured to USP, BP, EP and FCC monograph standards, placing it in the food, pharmaceutical and personal-care grades simultaneously — so one specification can serve confectionery, nutraceutical and oral-care production lines. Sorbitol is affirmed GRAS by the U.S. FDA and is approved for use in the European Union, Australia, Canada, Japan and many other markets.
