Sorbitol Powder is a high-purity polyol (sugar alcohol) supplied as a white, free-flowing crystalline powder. Chemically it is D-glucitol (C₆H₁₄O₆), a naturally occurring sugar alcohol with about 60% of the sweetness of sucrose and roughly one-third fewer calories. It delivers a smooth mouthfeel with a clean, cool and pleasant sweetness, and it does not promote tooth decay.
This product is offered in an 80–120 mesh grade — a fine, fast-dissolving powder suited to dry blends, tableting, confectionery, and applications where a smooth mouthfeel and rapid solubility matter. It is manufactured to meet USP, BP and EP pharmacopoeial requirements and is suitable for food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical use.
Sorbitol has been used safely in processed foods for decades. It is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) and approved for use in the European Union and in many other markets worldwide, including Australia, Canada and Japan.

Food & Beverage Bulk sweetener (nutritive sweetener), humectant and texturizing agent. Used in sugar-free and reduced-calorie confectionery (chewing gum, candies, chocolate), bakery and dairy products, chewing-gum coatings, beverages and functional foods. Sorbitol keeps products moist, improves texture and shelf life, and adds a cool, clean sweetness.
Pharmaceutical Excipient and sweetener in tablets, syrups, oral suspensions and chewables; useful where a non-cariogenic, low-glycaemic sweetener is required.
Cosmetics & Personal Care Humectant and skin-conditioning agent in toothpaste, mouthwash, creams, lotions and other personal-care formulations.
Industrial A versatile polyol intermediate used in chemical processing and as a humectant where moisture retention is required.
Why formulators choose it
![]()
Sorbitol is about 60% as sweet as sucrose, so it lets formulators cut calories while keeping a pleasant sweetness. It is valued for its cool, clean taste and smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel — qualities that make it a favourite in chewing gum, mints and sugar-free candies. Its strong humectant behaviour helps products stay soft and fresh for longer.

Q: What is the difference between 80–120 mesh and other grades? A: Mesh describes particle fineness. Higher mesh = finer powder. 80–120 mesh is a fine, fast-dissolving powder ideal for smooth-textured and dry-blend applications.
Q: Is this product suitable for sugar-free and diabetic-friendly products? A: Yes. Sorbitol is non-cariogenic, and its slow relative absorption of glucose makes it useful in diabetic-friendly formulations.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)? A: Please contact us with your target quantity and destination — MOQ and logistics are quoted per order.
Q: Can you provide samples and a COA? A: Yes. A batch-specific COA is provided with each shipment, and samples can be arranged on request.
Q: Can you pack to my requirements? A: Yes. Standard is 25 kg kraft paper bags with a PE inner liner; customised packing is available.
Q: What is the shelf life and how should it be stored? A: Store cool, dry and well-ventilated, away from moisture and odours. Under these conditions the product has a long, stable shelf life.
