Sorbitol Powder (also written D-Glucitol, D-Sorbitol, Sorbit or Sorbol) is a sugar alcohol produced to a consistent, high-purity crystalline powder. With roughly 60% of the sweetness of sucrose and about one-third fewer calories, it is an ideal bulk sweetener and texturizing agent where sweetness, body and mouthfeel must be delivered with a lower calorie load. It dissolves readily in water and has a clean, cool sweetness that does not mask other flavours.
