Sorbitol Solution 70% (Industrial Grade) is a clear, colourless, syrupy liquid - an aqueous solution of D-sorbitol, a sugar alcohol (polyol) obtained by the catalytic hydrogenation of glucose. It is supplied as a technical / industrial grade for non-food manufacturing, where it is used as a polyol feedstock and chemical intermediate, and as a humectant and conditioning aid in industrial formulations. Its liquid form blends readily into aqueous systems and removes the dissolution step required by solid sorbitol grades.

Industrial Grade Sorbitol Solution 70% is a versatile liquid polyol supplied for non-food industrial manufacturing. Typical applications include:
• Surfactants - raw material for sorbitan fatty acid esters (Span) and their ethoxylated derivatives (polysorbates / Tween), used as non-ionic emulsifiers, wetting agents and antistatic agents.
• Polyurethane - used as a polyol initiator / raw material in the production of polyether and polyester polyols for rigid polyurethane foams (insulation panels, construction, appliances).
• Alkyd & polyester resins - polyol component in alkyd and unsaturated polyester resins for paints, coatings and composites.
• Isosorbide production - feedstock for isosorbide, a monomer for speciality polymers (isosorbide-based polyesters / polycarbonates) and a chemical intermediate.
• Chemical intermediate - general feedstock for industrial chemical synthesis, including the sorbitol route to vitamin C intermediates.
• Humectant & conditioning agent - in tobacco processing, textiles, paper and leather to retain moisture and improve flexibility and processing.
• Printing inks & adhesives - humectant / plasticiser to control drying, flexibility and adhesion.
• Detergents & industrial cleaning - humectant and formulation aid.
• Non-crystallizing / low-temperature fluids - heat-transfer and moisture-conditioning duties where a non-crystallizing polyol solution is required.

Each batch is manufactured under controlled hydrogenation and purification conditions and released against a Certificate of Analysis (COA). Routine controls include dry substance, D-sorbitol content, D-mannitol, reducing and total sugars, pH, refractive index, specific gravity, moisture, colour / appearance, resistivity, sulphated ash, chlorides, sulphate, and trace metals (nickel, iron, heavy metals, arsenic). A COA is issued with every shipment.
Packed in 275 kg plastic drums. Please confirm the required quantity, destination port and delivery terms at the time of enquiry; container-load quantities are available on request.
