Sorbitol Solution 70% (CAS No. 50-70-4; INS No. 420) is an aqueous solution of the polyol sorbitol, supplied as a clear, colourless syrupy liquid at a minimum dry substance of 70%. About 60% as sweet as sucrose and with roughly one-third fewer calories, it delivers body, sweetness and a cool, clean taste without masking other flavours — making it a preferred bulk sweetener and humectant across food, pharmaceutical and personal care manufacturing.

Sorbitol Solution 70% is produced under controlled manufacturing conditions and released only after passing a full battery of physical, chemical and microbiological tests against the BP / USP / EP specification. Every batch is checked for dry substance, water content, D-sorbitol, D-mannitol, reducing and total sugars, refractive index, specific gravity, resistivity, pH, chlorides, sulphates, iron, nickel, heavy metals (as Pb), arsenic, sulphated ash and microbiological counts.
