Liquid sorbitol earns its place on the production line because it is ready to use. Where a powder must first be dissolved and dosed, Sorbitol Solution 70% arrives as a clear, colourless syrup already carrying a minimum 70% dry substance — so formulators simply pump, blend and dose. That handling efficiency, plus a clean, sucrose-like sweetness and strong moisture retention, is why liquid sorbitol is a standard ingredient in sugar-free candy and gum, syrups and sauces, beverages, bakery, oral care and liquid pharmaceutical.
Sorbitol itself is a polyol (sugar alcohol) used safely in processed foods for almost half a century. It is about 60% as sweet as sucrose with roughly one-third fewer calories, carries a smooth mouthfeel with a sweet, cool and pleasant taste, and is non-cariogenic — it does not promote tooth decay — making it a natural fit for sugar-free and diabetic-friendly products. It is affirmed as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the U.S. FDA and approved across the European Union and many other countries, including Australia, Canada and Japan.
