Sorbitol Solution 70% is a clear, colourless, syrupy liquid. Sorbitol is a polyol (sugar alcohol) widely used as a bulk sweetener and humectant. It is approximately 60% as sweet as sucrose, with about one-third fewer calories, and provides a smooth mouthfeel with a sweet, cool and pleasant taste.
The product is supplied in two grades, so buyers can select the form that best fits their formulation:
Crystalline Grade
Non-Crystalline Grade
Quick facts: CAS No. 50-70-4 · H.S. Code 29054400 · INS No. 420 · Dry substance ≥ 70% · Water content ≤ 30%.

Conclusion: the results conform to the specification.
Sorbitol has a long-established history of safe use in processed foods. It is used as a bulk sweetener and humectant in processed foods and food additives, and is also used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
Sorbitol has been affirmed as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the U.S. Food Administration and is approved for use by the European Union and numerous other countries, including Australia, Canada and Japan.

Every batch is tested and released against the applicable specification — appearance, dry substance and water content, assay (D-sorbitol and D-mannitol), sugars, refractive index and specific gravity, resistivity, heavy metals, arsenic, chloride and sulphate, and microbiology. A Certificate of Analysis is issued for each batch. The Non-Crystalline Grade additionally undergoes a crystallization-resistance test (18 °C, 48 h) to confirm it remains non-crystallizing.
