HPMC (Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose), CAS No. 9004-65-3, is a non-ionic cellulose derivative derived from purified natural cellulose. It is one of the most important functional additives in modern construction chemicals. As a premium water-retention agent and thickener, our construction-grade HPMC significantly improves the workability, adhesion and durability of cement-based and gypsum-based materials, and is widely used in dry mix mortars, tile adhesives, putty powders, self-leveling compounds and many other building systems.
It provides superior water‑retention performance to stop premature moisture evaporation, enabling full hydration of cement and gypsum and reducing cracking, hollowing and powdering risks. It greatly optimizes mortar workability, offers remarkable anti‑sag property for vertical construction, and extends open time for flexible adjustment during tile sticking and plastering. Meanwhile, it improves adhesion strength between mortar and base substrates. With stable viscosity, favorable dispersibility and broad formula compatibility, our HPMC fits well for tile adhesives, interior and exterior putty powders, gypsum plaster, dry‑mix mortars, self‑leveling compounds and external thermal insulation composite systems. Strict batch‑to‑batch consistency is ensured, and COA, MSDS can be provided upon request.
