Sorbitol Powder (Pharmaceutical Grade) is a white, crystalline, free-flowing powder - the solid form of D-sorbitol, a sugar alcohol (polyol) obtained by the catalytic hydrogenation of glucose and crystallised to a high-purity powder. Manufactured to pharmaceutical grade and tested against the British Pharmacopoeia (BP) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards, it is used as a pharmaceutical excipient and as a humectant and sweetener in pharmaceutical and oral-care formulations. It is a free-flowing powder that is easy to dose and blend into dry and semi-dry formulations, and it dissolves readily in water.

Sorbitol Powder (Pharmaceutical Grade) is used as a pharmaceutical excipient and as a humectant and sweetener in:

Each batch is manufactured under controlled hydrogenation, purification and crystallisation and released against a Certificate of Analysis (COA) with results conforming to the BP / USP specification. Routine controls include assay, moisture, total and reducing sugars, density, specific rotation, pH, residue on ignition, chlorides, sulphates, trace metals (heavy metals, nickel, lead, arsenic), particle-size distribution, and microbiological limits (total plate count, moulds and yeasts, E. coli). A COA is issued with every shipment.
