Sorbitol Powder (D-Glucitol, E420) is a white crystalline polyol sweetener and humectant used right across the shop floor — sugar-free candy, chewing gum, toothpaste, baked goods, beverages and pharmaceutical syrups. Few ingredients work as hard as sorbitol. Read the ingredient list of a sugar-free mint, a tube of toothpaste, a low-calorie biscuit, a cough syrup or a moist cake and sorbitol is frequently there — doing three jobs at once as a low-calorie bulk sweetener, a humectant that holds moisture, and a texturizing agent that builds body. That versatility, plus decades of safe use in processed foods, is why sorbitol powder is one of the most widely specified sugar alcohols in the world.
Our Sorbitol Powder is a white, crystalline, free-flowing powder that is very soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol.
