Sorbitol solution is used as a liquid bulk sweetener in processed foods and confectionery — sugar-free and reduced-sugar candies, chewing gum, chocolate and compound coatings, fillings, jams, bakery products and frozen desserts. Supplied as a liquid, it can be blended into syrups and mixes on the filling line without a separate dissolving stage.
In oral care and personal care, sorbitol solution is used as a liquid humectant and sweetener with a cool taste profile — for example in toothpaste, mouth rinses and other dentifrice products, and in skin care preparations where moisture retention is required. Its liquid form is convenient where the formulation is already aqueous.
In the cosmetics industry sorbitol solution is used as a humectant and formulation aid, helping creams, lotions and other cosmetic products retain moisture and hold a smooth, even texture.

Store Sorbitol Solution 70% in a cool, dry and ventilated environment. Keep containers closed until use, away from direct sunlight and strong odours, and handle the drums so that they are not dented or damaged. Under these conditions the solution keeps its colourless, syrupy form, and the non-crystalline grade remains liquid rather than crystallising in the drum.
