Sorbitol Powder (D-Glucitol, D-Sorbitol, CAS No. 50-70-4, INS 420, HS Code 29054400) is a polyol — a sugar alcohol widely used as a bulk sweetener in food, pharmaceutical, oral-care and cosmetic products.
Sorbitol is about 60 percent as sweet as sucrose with one-third fewer calories. It provides a smooth mouthfeel with a sweet, cool and pleasant taste, and is non-cariogenic (does not promote tooth decay), making it a preferred sugar substitute in sugar-free foods and oral-care products, and a suitable sweetener for people managing sugar intake.
The product meets the pharmacopeia standards of USP36 / BP2016 / EP8.0 / FCC V, for food and pharmaceutical application. Sorbitol has been affirmed as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the U.S. FDA and is approved for use by the European Union and numerous countries including Australia, Canada and Japan.

Every batch is tested in our laboratory for purity, moisture, sugar content, heavy metals, microbiology and appearance. Microbiological safety is strictly controlled: E. coli negative, Salmonella negative in 25 g, total plate count ≤ 1000 pcs/g. Heavy metal limits: Pb ≤ 5 ppm, As ≤ 1 ppm, Ni ≤ 1 ppm. Certificate of Analysis is supplied with each shipment.
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated environment. Keep containers tightly closed. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition, and away from strong oxidizing agents. Avoid dust inhalation and eye contact; use splash goggles, gloves and a dust respirator when handling large quantities. Sorbitol is easily soluble in cold and hot water. Shelf life: 24 months from date of manufacture.
