Sorbitol Powder, also called D-Glucitol and known as E420 in the food additive numbering system (CAS 50-70-4), is a white crystalline sugar alcohol (polyol) derived from glucose. It provides roughly 60% of the sweetness of sucrose with a cool, clean mouthfeel, and functions as a humectant, bulking agent and texture builder in confectionery, bakery and oral care formulations.
Because it binds moisture and resists crystallization, sorbitol powder is widely used in sugar-free candy, chewing gum, biscuits, cakes, ice cream and toothpaste, where it keeps products soft, controls water activity and extends shelf life. The powder dissolves readily in water and blends evenly into dry premixes, which makes it convenient for industrial batching.
We supply food grade sorbitol powder in 25kg bags for candy and bakery production lines, with batch certificate of analysis issued for every shipment. Bulk quantity, mesh grade and packaging can be confirmed against your formula requirements before order.

Confectionery and chewing gum. Sorbitol powder acts as a bulk sweetener and humectant in sugar-free candy, mints, tablets and gum. It keeps the mass pliable, restricts sugar crystallization and carries flavour evenly through the batch.
Bakery products. In cakes, biscuits, pastries and fillings, sorbitol retains moisture so products stay soft during transport and shelf storage, while lowering water activity to support longer keeping quality.
Ice cream, sorbet and frozen desserts. Sorbitol contributes sweetness, controls ice crystal formation and improves the smooth, creamy body of frozen desserts, including low sugar and no added sugar recipes.
Chocolate, cookies and coatings. Used as a partial sucrose replacement, sorbitol adds body and sweetness while reducing the tendency of sugar to recrystallize on the surface.
Oral care and personal care. Toothpaste, mouthwash, mouth sprays and cosmetic creams use sorbitol as a humectant and sweetener that keeps the paste smooth, prevents drying in the tube, and gives a pleasant cooling taste without the aftertaste of some other polyols.
Sugar-free and reduced sugar formulations. Sorbitol is a common base for sugar-free confectionery and reduced calorie foods where bulk, sweetness and moisture control must be delivered together.
