Maltitol Syrup 85/55 is a clear, colourless viscous liquid containing D-Maltitol (CAS 585-88-6), complying with BP, USP and EP pharmacopoeia standards. This multi-compendial grade sugar alcohol acts as low-calorie humectant, plasticizer and sweetener. It features low reactivity and non-crystallizing property, widely selected as excipient for softgel capsule formulations. It stabilizes gelatin shell, retains moisture and prevents softgel brittling during storage.
Our BP USP EP maltitol syrup 85/55 is produced under strict GMP-aligned quality control. Every batch is fully tested before shipment. We can provide COA and MSDS for quality validation and customs clearance. Key specifications are well controlled: solid content 85%, D-maltitol content minimum 55% on dry basis. It shows good compatibility with gelatin and other common excipients used in softgel manufacturing. It will not trigger unwanted browning reaction during production.
For softgel capsule production, maltitol syrup serves as efficient humectant and plasticizer. It maintains proper moisture level of gelatin shell and avoids cracking or hardening of softgels in shelf life. It delivers mild sweet taste for taste masking, without promoting tooth decay. It helps stabilize the whole softgel system and extend product shelf life, which makes it a reliable raw material for softgel manufacturers.
It can also be applied in other oral formulation systems and sugar-free nutritional products. As low-calorie sweetener and humectant, it works well in lozenges, oral suspensions and sugar-free confectionery. It brings stable viscosity and smooth texture for finished formulations.
We pack maltitol syrup BP USP EP 85/55 in 250kg plastic drums. The drum is leak-proof and suitable for long-distance ocean shipment. Custom packaging options are available for large bulk orders. The shelf life is 24 months under proper storage. Please keep drums sealed in cool, dry and ventilated warehouse, away from direct sunlight and high temperature.
We are a reliable bulk supplier with stable stock for full container orders. Normal lead time is 7-10 days after receiving deposit. We accept flexible payment terms including T/T and L/C at sight. Free small samples are available for laboratory formulation testing; buyers only need to bear sample freight. Our export team has rich experience in sugar alcohol excipient export and document handling. We provide professional support for your whole import process. Global distributors and formulation factories are welcome to contact us for quotation and technical consultation.

Release testing follows the BP, USP and EP monographs and adds the parameters a shell formulator needs: dry substance by refractometry, water by Karl Fischer, maltitol and sorbitol by HPLC, pH on dilution, reducing sugars, conductivity ash, metals and microbiological counts.
Compendial grade material is held to a tighter colour and ash limit than food grade, since a shell is a thin, transparent film where any tint shows. Lot codes link the drum to its evaporation run and to the retained sample, and re-test is available on request.
The syrup is filled hot into 250kg lacquered steel drums with a food-grade liner and a gasketed lid, or packed in 1000kg IBCs with a bottom valve. Four drums per pallet and 80 drums per 20ft container; IBC loads are 18-20 units. Containers are marked with lot code, net weight and grade, and neutral packing can be arranged for contract buyers.

Hold the drums in a dry, ventilated store at 18-30°C, away from light and from odorous materials. Warm a cold drum to 45°C and homogenise before use, since the 85% grade is slow to flow at low temperature. Reseal after drawing, keep the drum upright, and avoid contact with copper or uncoated iron fittings in transfer lines. Under these conditions the sealed product remains within specification for 24 months.
