Our Sorbitol Solution 70% is a clear, colorless, odorless syrupy liquid manufactured to cosmetic-grade standards for oral care and personal care formulations. Chemically identified as D-Glucitol (INCI: Sorbitol, CAS 50-70-4), it is a plant-derived sugar alcohol polyol that functions as a humectant, moisturizer, and texture enhancer. Supplied at a stable 70% concentration, this is the standard form used in the cosmetics industry — available as a 70% aqueous solution and specifically noted in industry references as typically used in toothpastes and many other personal care products. The 70% level provides excellent humectancy without the microbial spoilage risk associated with lower concentrations. Sorbitol is derived from glucose through catalytic hydrogenation, a process entirely plant-based with no animal-derived ingredients. This is why sorbitol consistently qualifies for Halal and Kosher certification from recognized bodies, and why it is suitable for vegan and clean-label formulations. Typical specification. The certificate of analysis issued for each shipment is the governing document. Each lot is released against its own certificate of analysis, and a safety data sheet is available for the site hazard file. Proven Humectant for Skin & Hair – Sorbitol attracts water to the top layer of the skin and locks it there, keeping skin moisturized for longer periods. In hair care, it helps keep shafts hydrated and adds elasticity to improve tensile strength and prevent breakage. Essential in Toothpaste – A standard humectant in oral care. It prevents toothpaste from drying out and is non-cariogenic (does not promote tooth decay), making it a preferred ingredient for oral care products. Improves Texture & Stability – Acts as a texture enhancer and stabilizer. It provides smooth and creamy texture in creams, ointments, and emulsions, and helps stabilize gel formulas while keeping clear formulas from becoming cloudy. High Thermal & pH Stability – Stable up to 180°C and relatively stable at low and high pH. It does not undergo Maillard browning, helping maintain product color over time. Preserving Effect at Higher Concentrations – At higher concentrations, sorbitol shows a preserving effect, supporting product preservation in cosmetic formulations. Halal & Kosher Certified – Certified for export to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and other markets requiring Halal compliance, as well as Kosher-certified for Jewish dietary requirements. Sorbitol Solution 70% is widely used across oral care and personal care formulations. Typical usage levels in skin care range from 5–50%, and in oral care formulations it functions as a primary humectant. Toothpaste & Mouthwash – Humectant, viscosity builder, and non-cariogenic sweetener. Prevents paste from drying out and provides a refreshing cool taste. Skincare Creams & Lotions – Moisturizer and humectant. Helps skin retain water, improving softness and reducing dryness. Also acts as a skin-conditioning agent. Cleansers & Shower Gels – Provides moisture-binding properties and improves skin feel in rinse-off products. Hair Care – Humectant for shampoos and conditioners, helping hair maintain moisture balance and elasticity. Color Cosmetics – Texturizing agent and plasticizer in powder and cream formulations. Oral Care Powders – Compacting agent for dry powder forms, with non-cariogenic sweetness. Who Is This For?
Quality is built into every stage of production, from raw material intake to finished drum release. Our QC system is designed to meet the expectations of international cosmetic and personal care manufacturers, importers, and regulatory bodies.
Raw Material Control
Starch raw materials (corn or wheat) are sourced from approved suppliers with established vendor qualification records.
Incoming lots are tested for identity, moisture, and microbiological safety before release to production.
Certificates of analysis from raw material suppliers are retained and cross-referenced with internal batch records for full traceability.
In-Process Control
The production of sorbitol involves catalytic hydrogenation of glucose syrup under controlled temperature and pressure. Critical parameters are monitored throughout:
Hydrogenation: Temperature, pressure, and reaction time are controlled within validated ranges to ensure complete conversion and minimize residual reducing sugars.
Catalyst removal: Nickel catalyst is removed through filtration and ion exchange. Residual nickel is monitored as a critical safety parameter.
Purification & concentration: Ion exchange and evaporation steps are controlled to achieve the target dry substance content and clarity.
Drum packing for this grade is a 250 kg blue tight-head unit, sealed at both bungs and labelled with product, grade, net weight and lot number before it leaves the filling line. Four drums ride on a pallet at 1000 kg, and 80 drums fill a 20 ft container at about 20 tonnes, which keeps a campaign's feed supply on a single booking. Where the fermenter is fed from a bulk vessel, the same syrup is quoted in 1000 kg food-grade IBC tanks with a bottom discharge valve, and neutral labels are available on request.
Store indoors between 15 °C and 30 °C, upright and closed, on a bunded area away from oxidising agents and acids. Cold thickens the syrup and can seed crystals that later block a strainer, so a drum that has been through a cold transit should be warmed to room temperature and rolled before it is pumped. Warm storage slowly darkens the product, which is a disadvantage in a route where colour bodies carry downstream. Keep bungs closed to prevent dilution and label each drum with the lot number for campaign reconciliation.
Cosmetic-Grade Focus – Produced to meet the clarity and consistency requirements of cosmetic and oral care applications.
Halal & Kosher Certified – Ready for export to certification-sensitive markets.
Consistent Quality Every Drum – Stable 70% concentration and reliable performance batch after batch.
Flexible Wholesale Supply – From trial orders to ongoing bulk shipments.
Fast Delivery – Logistics set up to avoid unnecessary delays.
Export Experience – We understand documentation and compliance requirements for international cosmetic ingredient shipments.
Feedstock consistency. Dry substance and assay are reported per drum, so the carbon charge for a fermentation can be calculated from the certificate instead of a re-test at the tank.
Low iron and nickel. Both are measured by ICP-MS on each lot, which is what protects the oxidation selectivity and the downstream catalyst.
Low reducing sugars. The fraction that browns during sterilisation is held down, so the feed stays light in colour.
Filter-ready clarity. Each lot is checked visually against a standard, and the syrup is filtered before filling.
Drum and IBC supply. 250 kg sealed drums for campaign dosing, 1000 kg IBC tanks where the feed tank takes bulk.
Industrial documentation. The certificate, safety data sheet and packing list are issued with the booking, and the container plan is confirmed against the campaign schedule before dispatch
