Building‑Grade HPMC is a non‑ionic modified polymer obtained from refined cotton. As an indispensable functional additive for modern dry‑mix building industry, it is purposely engineered for construction scenarios, not for food, pharmaceutical or cosmetic usage.
Its molecular structure brings unique cold‑water dissolving feature, forming uniform viscous solution while failing to dissolve in hot water. With stable gel temperature 58‑64℃ and pH value 5‑8 (1% aqueous solution), it keeps stable performance in both alkaline cement system and neutral‑weak‑acid gypsum formula.

Viscosity spans from 40000 cps up to 200000 cps under 2% Brookfield test condition. Different viscosity grades can be selected according to customer’s formula requirement, to satisfy diverse demands from thin‑coat plaster to heavy‑layer tile adhesive.
It locks moisture inside mortar matrix effectively. Prevent fast water loss caused by high‑temperature environment or water‑absorbing base wall. Sufficient hydration reaction of cement and gypsum can be guaranteed, lowering risks of surface pulverization, shrinkage crack and hollow defect.
Offer excellent vertical stability for wet mortar. When applying thick‑layer putty or heavy tile bonding, mortar will not sag or slide down from vertical wall surface. Reduce rework rate and raise construction efficiency for workers.
Endow mortar with smooth trowelling and spreading property. Extend open time, leaving enough adjusting period for trimming and position correction before initial setting. Good compatibility with cement, gypsum, mineral fillers and other common dry‑mix additives, no adverse interference to finished strength.
Low moisture ≤5.0%, controlled ash content, bulk density 0.3‑0.5 g/cm³. Each production batch is sampled and tested. Index deviation is strictly controlled to avoid performance fluctuation in end‑user mass production.
Under cool and dry sealed storage condition, shelf life can reach 2 years. It is non‑dangerous chemical, easy for ocean and land shipment. Relevant safety guidance is fully recorded in MSDS.

Dry premix: Mix HPMC fully with other dry powder raw materials first, then add water and stir. Direct feeding into water alone will lead to agglomeration.
Dosage reference: Normal addition amount sits between 0.1%‑0.5% based on total dry formula weight, adjust according to local climate, formula and construction requirement.
Storage requirement: Store in cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Keep away from moisture, high‑temperature and sunlight. Seal bag tightly once opened to prevent damp.
Operation suggestion: Wear dust‑proof mask when handling powder to reduce dust inhalation.
