Sorbitol Powder, also known as D-Glucitol (CAS 50-70-4), is a white, free-flowing crystalline powder of food grade quality. It is a low-calorie, low glycemic sugar alcohol widely used across food manufacturing. It functions as sweetener, humectant, bulking agent and texturizer. It delivers mild sweetness while exerting a minor impact on blood glucose levels, making it perfect for low glycemic food development.
Our food grade sorbitol powder is produced under strict food safety standards. Each batch undergoes complete lab testing before shipment. COA and MSDS documents can be provided for quality verification and import customs clearance. It dissolves readily in water and shows good compatibility with most common food ingredients. It helps retain moisture and stabilise texture in finished products.
In sugar-free and low glycemic food production, sorbitol powder serves as a key raw material. It offers gentle sweetness without sharp aftertaste and is non-cariogenic. It helps maintain moisture and prevents product drying for a wide range of sugar-free formulations.
It also sees broad application in confectionery, bakery and nutritional supplements. It softens candy texture, reduces staling in baked goods and masks unpleasant bitter taste in nutraceutical products.
This sorbitol powder is packed in 25kg PP woven bags, suitable for pallet loading and long-distance ocean transportation. Custom packaging can be discussed for large bulk orders. When stored in sealed bags in a cool, dry and ventilated warehouse, away from high humidity and direct sunlight, the shelf life is 24 months.![]()

Sugar reduced biscuits and cereal bars. Sorbitol replaces part of the sugar solids and holds the dough water, so the baked piece does not dry out when the sugar level drops. Because it does not brown, the bake profile is adjusted to keep colour on the surface.
Beverages for glycemic-conscious consumers. A low dose of sorbitol restores the solids and body that a reduced sugar drink loses, and it contributes a small fraction of the glycemic load that the displaced sucrose would have carried. Acidity has to be matched, since the perceived sweetness rises as pH falls.
Diabetic and reduced-sugar confectionery. Chewing gum and soft candy use sorbitol as the bulk sweetener, and the low glycemic response is a property of the polyol itself rather than of the recipe. The polyol declaration and the tolerance statement are handled at label stage.
Sugar reduced dairy and frozen desserts. In a yoghurt or an ice cream, sorbitol adds body and controls ice crystal size while lowering the sugar solids. Its freezing point depression is milder than sucrose at equal weight, which keeps the product from becoming too soft.
Meal replacement and clinical nutrition blends. Where energy density and glycemic response are both specified, sorbitol gives a fermentable carbohydrate source that does not carry the glucose spike of a maltodextrin or a glucose syrup.![]()

Release testing covers assay, moisture, mesh, reducing sugars, heavy metals, arsenic and microbiological counts, with the result for each reported beside its limit on the certificate. The glycemic index figure quoted on the specification is a literature value for the substance, and it is stated as approximate for that reason; any claim made on a finished food should be supported by a test on that food.
Because the ingredient may be sold into products carrying a health positioning, the documentation pack is kept complete: specification, certificate of analysis, allergen declaration, nutritional data for the polyol and a statement that the material is not derived from animal sources. Retained samples are held per batch for re-test.
Shipments are packed in 25kg PP woven bags with an inner PE liner, heat-sealed at the throat, and can be palletised and stretch-wrapped on request. Neutral and buyer-labelled bags are available for bulk orders. Container loading is confirmed per order against the destination port and the palletisation chosen, and full container, LCL and mixed shipments are handled. Booking documents and the certificate of analysis are issued before dispatch.![]()
The powder should be held in a dry, ventilated warehouse below 35°C and below 65% relative humidity, on pallets and away from aromatic goods, since it absorbs odours that would be obvious in a bland beverage. Close the liner on part-used bags and rotate stock on a first-expiry basis. An unopened bag keeps its flow for 24 months when held within that range.
We are a reliable bulk supplier with stable stock for FCL shipments. Normal lead time is 7–10 days after receiving deposit. We accept payment terms including T/T and sight L/C. Small lab samples are available for formulation testing; buyers only need to bear sample freight. Our export team has rich experience in food additive export and document preparation. We provide full-process support for your import business. Food manufacturers and global distributors are welcome to contact us for quotation and technical consultation.
Ingredient data stated plainly. Glycemic index, energy value and polyol carbohydrate content are given as figures with their basis, so a formulation team can calculate before committing to a trial.
No claim beyond the substance. The glycemic figure is presented as an ingredient property, with finished-product testing left where it belongs, on the finished product.
Low reducing sugar content. Held at 0.05% typical, which keeps the powder from contributing browning or flavour drift in a stored product.
Consistent mesh and moisture. Both are released per batch by sieve analysis and Karl Fischer, so a validated reduced-sugar formula stays stable between deliveries.
Documentation for health-positioned products. Specification, certificate, allergen declaration and nutritional data are issued as one set with the shipment.
Bulk supply in lined bags. 25kg PP bags with heat-sealed PE liner, palletised on request, with neutral or buyer-labelled packing for volume orders.![]()
