Sorbitol Solution 70% Food Grade is a clear, colorless, syrupy liquid derived from corn, conforming to food-grade specifications with CAS number 50-70-4 (D-Glucitol). It is a sugar alcohol widely used in the food and beverage industry as both a humectant and a sweetener. This drum-packed format is designed for manufacturers, distributors, and processors who require reliable bulk quantities with convenient handling and storage. Typical specification. The certificate of analysis issued for each shipment is the governing document. The drum label batch code, the pallet label and the certificate of analysis carry the same reference, and a safety data sheet is issued with the shipping documents. • Dual function: Acts as both a humectant and a sweetener in a single ingredient. Drum supply fits a syrup room that weighs concentrate by the batch rather than drawing from a silo. The solution meters by mass, dissolves without heating, and carries flavour without adding a cooked note. Chewing gum centres and soft candy take the syrup as a humectant that keeps the piece from hardening at the surface during conditioning. Fruit fillings and cream icings use the liquid directly, avoiding the dispersion step a powdered polyol needs and the lumping that follows a poor dispersion. Water activity control in pourable sauces and brines is easier with a liquid polyol than with a crystalline sweetener that has to be dissolved first. Toothpaste and mouthwash formulations use the same drum grade as a humectant and a non-cariogenic sweetener base.Product Overview
As a sweetener, sorbitol provides a mild, pleasant sweetness approximately 60% that of sucrose, with a clean taste and a subtle cooling sensation. As a humectant, it binds moisture and helps prevent products from drying out, hardening, or going stale during storage. These dual functions make sorbitol a practical ingredient for sugar-free and reduced-sugar applications, including confectionery, baked goods, beverages, and frozen desserts.
Sorbitol is non-cariogenic—oral bacteria cannot ferment it into cavity-causing acids—and its metabolism does not require insulin, supporting its use in sugar-free and diabetic-friendly formulations. It is heat-stable and does not participate in Maillard browning, helping preserve the original color and flavor of thermally processed foods. The liquid form is easy to pump and incorporate into production, and the non-crystallizing formulation remains smooth and stable in storage.
This food-grade solution is manufactured from corn and supplied in drum-packed formats, including 250kg and 270kg drums, for industrial-scale production and efficient logistics.![]()

Key Benefits
• Mild sweetness: Provides approximately 60% of the sweetness of sucrose with a clean taste.
• Moisture retention: Helps prevent products from drying out, hardening, or going stale.
• Tooth-friendly: Non-cariogenic; does not feed cavity-causing oral bacteria.
• Gentler on blood sugar: Absorbed slowly; does not cause the rapid spike associated with sucrose.
• Heat-stable: Does not brown during baking or pasteurization, preserving color and flavor.
• Non-crystallizing: Remains smooth and pumpable in storage and production.
• Drum-packed convenience: Available in 250kg and 270kg drums for flexible bulk supply.![]()

Every drum is filled from a release-approved lot. Dry substance is checked refractometrically at the fill line, and a retained sample from the same lot is held for confirmatory HPLC assay, reducing sugars and heavy metals before the drums are released to the warehouse.
The fill weight is verified on a calibrated scale at the start, middle and end of each filling run, so the 270 kg net declared on the label reflects the drum in front of you rather than a nominal figure. Drums with damaged chimes, stained closures or a broken seal are rejected before palletising.
Standard export packing is a 270 kg net tight-head HDPE drum with tamper-evident seals, palletised and stretch-wrapped, with 250 kg drums available for buyers whose racking or decanting equipment is sized to the smaller unit. A 20ft container takes 80 drums within the weight limit, and pallet configuration is confirmed against the destination port and the unloading equipment at your end. Neutral labelling or buyer-branded labels are applied on request, and drum count, net weight and batch codes are stated on the packing list before dispatch.![]()
Keep drums closed, upright and out of direct sunlight in a warehouse that stays between 15°C and 30°C. Store away from strong odours, since the syrup absorbs foreign smells through the bung. Before decanting, fit a drum pump or a closed transfer line rather than tipping the drum, and reseal the bung immediately after use. If a drum has been opened and partly drawn down, consume the remainder within the production cycle rather than carrying it into the next quarter.
One pack, one traceable lot. Each drum is filled from a single release-approved lot, and the drum label, pallet label and certificate of analysis share one reference.
Fill weight checked, not assumed. Drums are weighed at the start, middle and end of every filling run on a calibrated scale, so declared net weight matches delivered net weight.
Drum handling thought through. Two bungs, a standard 2 inch thread and a stackable pallet configuration make the drum workable with a drum pump, a cam-lock adaptor or a closed transfer line.
Documents travel with the load. Certificate of analysis, safety data sheet, packing list and booking documents are issued before the container leaves the loading port.
Smaller unit available. Buyers with low weekly consumption or restricted racking can take the 250 kg drum on the same specification.
Export packing experience. Full container, LCL and mixed shipments are handled, with palletisation matched to the receiving dock rather than to our convenience.![]()
