Maltitol Syrup 75/50, also known as Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate (HSH, E965), is a transparent, colourless viscous liquid. This food grade syrup contains 75% solid content and a minimum 50% D-maltitol on dry basis. It acts as non-crystallizing humectant and mild sweetener, tailor-made for chewing gum production. It improves gum elasticity, prevents hardening, and delivers smooth, long-lasting sweetness without grainy texture.
Our food grade maltitol syrup 75/50 is manufactured in line with rigorous food safety specifications. Every batch is fully tested in laboratory before delivery. COA and MSDS can be issued to meet quality inspection and import customs clearance requirements. It shows excellent compatibility with gum base and other chewing gum raw materials. It helps maintain consistent softness and suppress sugar crystal precipitation during storage.
In sugar-free chewing gum formulas, this HSH maltitol syrup plays a critical role. It keeps the gum flexible and chewy, avoiding brittle texture over shelf life. It provides a clean sweet taste with no cariogenic effect. It optimizes processing performance during kneading and forming, reducing production difficulties for gum manufacturers.
Besides chewing gum, it can be used in sugar-free confectionery and functional foods. It locks moisture for candies and serves as taste masking agent for nutritional supplements.
This maltitol syrup 75/50 is packed in leak-proof 250kg plastic drums, suitable for long-distance sea transportation. Custom packaging can be negotiated for large bulk orders. When stored in sealed containers inside cool, dry and ventilated warehouse, away from direct sunlight and high temperature, the shelf life is 24 months.

Sugar-free pellet gum. The syrup is metered into the mixer after the base has softened, then the solid polyol is added. It lowers the elasticity of the mass just enough for the extruder to form a constant rope, and the pellets come off the cutter with clean edges rather than torn faces.
Stick and slab gum. A stick has to flex without snapping at the score line. The liquid phase keeps the sheet pliable through the rolling and scoring train, and it limits the brittleness that appears when a gum is stored in a dry climate.
Coated gum and centre-filled gum. In coated pellets the syrup is kept out of the coating pan and used in the core rather than in the pan, where it plasticises the base and reduces the core's tendency to expand and crack the shell during the syruping and drying cycles.
Functional gum with active ingredients. Because the syrup carries no reducing sugar, it does not react with amine-containing actives or with the flavour aldehydes, so mint and fruit notes stay intact over the shelf period.
Typical use sits between 4% and 8% of the gum mass, adjusted against the base type and the target cud softness. Our technical team can advise on the level for a given base.

Feed syrup is screened for dextrose equivalent before hydrogenation, and the converted liquor passes through ion exchange and a polish filter ahead of the evaporator. Filling-head samples are tested for dry substance and for the maltitol-to-sorbitol ratio by HPLC, with water by Karl Fischer and pH on dilution.
The ratio matters more in gum than the absolute maltitol figure, because it sets how much the syrup softens the base. Each lot therefore reports both components on the certificate, and lot codes link the drum to its evaporation run so a change in cud texture can be traced to a delivery.

Filling is into 250kg lacquered steel drums with a food-grade liner, hot-filled and closed with a gasketed clamp lid, or into 1000kg IBCs with a bottom outlet for pumped feed. Four drums per pallet, 80 drums per 20ft container, 18-20 IBCs for a bulk load. Drums are marked with lot code, net weight and filling point, and buyer labels can be applied on request.

Store under cover between 15 and 30°C, off the floor and away from odour sources such as solvents or flavour drums, since the syrup absorbs foreign smells. Cold drums stiffen and may show seed crystals; warm them to 40-45°C and mix before drawing off. Reseal after each draw, and rotate stock on a first-in, first-out basis. Unopened drums stay within specification for 24 months.
We are a reliable bulk supplier with stable stock for FCL shipments. Normal lead time is 7–10 days after receiving deposit. Payment options include T/T and sight L/C. Small lab samples are available for chewing gum formulation trials; buyers only need to cover sample freight. Our export team has rich experience in sugar alcohol food additive export and document handling. We provide full-process support for your import business. Chewing gum factories, food processors and global distributors are welcome to contact us for quotation and technical consultation.
